Opportunity for a high performing technical professional to provide dynamic modelling services on a range of Mine to Port projects

Optika Solutions Pty Ltd (Optika) is a consulting group that provides innovative services to leverage processes, people and technology to improve operations and supply chain systems and enhance overall business performance. Optika provide extensive Mine to Port dynamic simulation modelling to both mining companies and infrastructure providers.  Our client base includes large and reputable companies such as BHP Billiton, OneSteel and Hancock Prospecting.
Due to recent project successes, we have a range of Modelling positions available. To be successful in your application, you will require:
  • a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering (a Masters level qualification will be well regarded),
  • experience in the mining or oil and gas industries in a technical role will be advantageous, and
  • some exposure to simulation tools (such as ExtendSim or ARENA) would be beneficial, however professionals with strong backgrounds in the mathematical or computing sciences are also encouraged to apply.
The role will include a wide variety of responsibilities, including:
  • process mapping,
  • capturing business rules and translating to model logic,
  • data gathering and analysis, and
  • model building and validation. 
You will work closely with senior staff to learn in-house processes and apply best practice consulting methodologies.
